I love these bowls. They're always fresh and flavorful. You can order from their menu or build your own bowl. I recommend the el Jefe (add pickled red onions and jalapeños)! Portion sizes are usually pretty substantial- I typically order for dinner and have enough left over for lunch the next day. I'd recommend picking up directly from the store rather than ordering via a delivery app like uber eats, DoorDash, etc.. They do have their own delivery option, but I haven't tried it because the delivery fee appears to be $7 for me. My past few delivery (via third party app) orders have been missing add-ons I've requested (and paid for) and have been a little skimpy on the protein. The prices are much lower in-store, too. BUT, the bowls are a tasty, healthy option when I don't have time to cook for myself, so I'll be back for more!

Been going here almost weekly for three years. Portions are great, always enough for lunch the next day. Hearty enough to make you feel full, healthy enough that you don't feel gross. I see the staff checking food temps pretty often and in general feel like they take food safety seriously. Not usually a great place to eat inside, they don't often have anyone wiping down tables and they play the music pretty loud, but the food is so good I come back anyway.

absolutely recommend this place!! great salads with lots of options. Service is usually ok. The ambiance is peaceful, you walk through a line and pick the ingredients on your salad as it's prepared . There's not a lot of parking , have a plan.

Visited for the first time yesterday and was impressed! I took my friend's suggestion and ordered the El Jefe bowl and it did not disappoint. The bowl was packed with rice, kale, corn, onion, pita chips, and chicken; I also ordered it with the works which I wasn't sure what I was signing up for but it was worth it lol! The bowl was very filling and I had enough leftover rice to take home. The chicken was cooked well and had a nice kick to it. I think the bowls were fairly priced at $12 but coming from a bigger city my bar is very low. The staff was also very enthusiastic when helping our large party. I could definitely see myself making this my go-to for lunch when I'm on campus. Located across from the Wex, it's a great stop to meet up with friends or colleagues throughout the day. The food was so good I forgot to take a picture before diving in.

Healthy bowls with great serving size of each add on and a variety of options to choose from. Protein options are good if you like chicken but no seafood or red meat is available. Service was fast and cordial. We did not eat there, got a takeout order, but ambiance is nice and big.

I'm a salad bowl girl to my core. I love roots because the ingredients always taste so fresh. I love when I walk into the restaurant, and I can see them grilling up fresh chicken. I usually order roots online for pickup because of convenience. The portion sizes are amazing here, so I can usually eat my bowl for more than one meal. The servers are efficient, and the restaurant is bright and clean.

Roots is one of my go-to places when I want to eat a lot but feel healthy. The food is delicious in my opinion (with so many options) and perfect if you are looking for a healthy, tasty, fast-casual setting! I typically make my own grain/salad bowls but they also have signature bowls to choose from. I have had Roots catered for a lunch work meeting, highly suggested. My only ding is that the prices have risen and it can get pricey quick, especially for a campus location, so definitely not a regular eating place for me.

A co-worker suggested Roots Natural Kitchen for lunch so we placed a take out order for about 10 people. There are two ways to order ahead of time and neither are that great. The first is through Door Dash (if you want delivery), however Door Dash increases the prices of everything by $2-4 which is annoying. The other way is through the Roots mobile app (since everyone needs an extra app on their phone?). After calling the restaurant to see if we could just order over the phone, they politely directed us to the namesake app, so we succumbed to downloading it. Unfortunately, you are only able to place 7 entree orders on the app at once, so we had to make two separate orders for our group. The menu is easy to navigate, with signature bowls, or build your own bowls. Each bowl consists of two bases (grains or lettuces), vegetables, cheese, protein and sauce/dressing. I went with the Balboa, but we had a good variety across the group. The parking is quite limited which is another downside. However since it is located right in the heart of campus, I'm sure they get a lot of food traffic. The food itself was phenomenal and surpassed my expectations. They also give you a very generous portion size. I would definitely get it again, but probably order during an off-time as it was extremely busy over the lunch hour (not surprising).
